I’m a teacher and a coach specialized in learning, resilience and executive functions. My work is substantiated by rigorous academic and applied research, a habit I acquired for my MA in Education at the Institute of Education, University College London. To round off my training, I completed my qualification at the Animas Centre for Coaching, London. I work with individuals with learning and behaviour difficulties as well as those wanting to improve their performance or bring about a change in their lives. My aim is to equip my clients and students with resources necessary to live a fulfilled life.
Executive functions are neurological processes, which play a role in the successful completion of a priority in a timely manner. These processes develop as the brain matures and can be influenced by nurture. Examples of executive function deficits are poor decision making, a misjudgement of what can be done in a given period of time, difficulties focusing on what is relevant and a lack of awareness of the effect of one’s actions on other people and the future. My executive function training modules help students develop the habits of prioritization, planning, execution and accountability to control procrastination and develop a sense of autonomy and self-regulation.
Life gives you opportunities, but it can also pull the rug from under your feet. Dwelling on or avoiding risk and adversity denies individuals a fulfilled, self-actualized life governed by insecurities and negative self-talk. Resilience is the process that allows individuals to cope with life’s demands and challenges. It can be learned and practiced. A resilient mind uses adversity for psychological growth. I use a dialectic process to raise awareness of dysfunctional assumptions, untapped resources and employ didactic training modules for self-efficacy, learned realistic optimism and emotional regulation.
I have a wide range of experience in supporting diverse learners with Dyslexia, ADHD and Oppositional Defiant Disorder in the Humanities, Maths and Sciences. I offer Positive Behaviour Support and manage Collaborative Problem-Solving processes for families, students and teachers.
